The Vault Gallery started 33 years ago as a small boutique in the old Farmers and Merchants Bank building in what was originally the bank's vault. Original owners Joy Kilner and her mother, Arlene Trowbridge, specialized in a few lines of sweaters and imported sterling silver and gold jewelry. As the business grew, so did Joy's interest in fine designer jewelry. The Vault Gallery gradually replaced the imported jewelry with the best designer lines and diamonds, added women's art to wear and accessories, as well as art glass and American craft.which makes up the eclectic mix of sophisticated design for which the store is known today.

In 1979, architect Dane Olsen designed a beautiful new space and the Vault Gallery moved to its current location on Pacific Avenue in March of 1980. In 1990, Arlene left the partnership. Joy and her huband, Doug Kilner, formed the Vault Gallery, Inc. in 1992 with Joy as CEO and Doug as CFO.

Always growing and evolving, the Vault Gallery expanded to two floors in 2003, to make up 5,000 square feet of gallery space. With a full service jeweler's workshop added in 2005 and a full time designer/jeweler on the premises, customers are assured of the best and safest service available for all their fine jewelry needs.
